The theater itself can be a container for performances while also serving as a landmark building for the site. The interplay between void and solid is not only a transformation of space but also a transformation of the viewing relationship between subject and object.
Performance is the art of time, and the stage is a fluid space. The theater space and the performer-audience relationship interact bidirectionally. The traditional proscenium arch creates a binary separation between actors and audience, with an invisible wall (the so-called "fourth wall") hindering communication between viewing and performing. However, performance forms can be diverse, and consequently, the interpretation of theater space can also be reconstructed.
